Original US stereo LP, Columbia QC-38819, 27 Oct 1983.

Although the photographs are uncredited, the photographs were taken by Sara Dylan during a visit to Israel in September 1983 for their son Jesse's bar-mitzvah. The front picture of Bob was taken through a car window. The rear picture is a drawing by Bob that was originally intended as the front cover. The photograph on the front of the inner sleeve shows Bob on the Mount of Olives with Jerusalem in the background. (Information from Rod MacBeath.)

This title was one of the fifteen Dylan albums released in Sep 2003 as a hybrid CD/SACD. This is playable both in stereo on an ordinary CD player and in enhanced stereo on an SACD player or a DVD player that also plays SACDs (Sony's higher range models all do this). Six titles were available in 5.1 surround sound, but not this one. Sadly the opportunity to include bonus tracks of the excellent unreleased material from the Infidels sessions was missed.

The record has red Columbia labels with the yellow Columbia logo in a ring round the outside.

The back of the inner sleeve is the same as the US version apart from the bottom text with says "CBS records and tapes" instead of "Columbia records and tapes". While the cover of Freewheelin' is the UK version (a higher crop of the design than the US version), the cover shown of Shot Of Love is the US version with white title text (the UK version had black title text).

The vinyl album did not have a lyric insert like the Dutch release, but one was provided with the UK cassette release CBS 40-25539 and is shown below.

The record has the same catalogue number as the UK album with orange/yellow CBS labels and written matrix numbers: CI 25539-1/2L-26-10-83. It has the original inner sleeve.

This rare record has red labels with CBS in orange on the circumference and written matrix numbers: P AL/BL-38819-1M/A QCL-22077-A/B with "MASTERDISC" stamped.

In a front cover variation the names of four songs are printed in yellow.

This album has the title in white instead of black, and the  rear sleeve has song titles and credits in Spanish. The record labels have the song titles in English and Spanish. The matrix numbers are: Side 1 - AL 38119 (with some scratched matrix numbers with X's on them to the left that look like "AL 3915"), Side 2 - BL 38819 (38819 was the US catalogue number).

Thanks also to Sergio for pointing out that the Spanish translation of the album title is incorrect - "Infidelidades" translates to "Infidelities" (as in "unfaithful acts"). Sergio suggests the correct Spanish translation is "Infieles"!

This album was also re-released as Columbia 20.461 in the 1990s - scans required.

As far as I know, these were the only two CD releases of this album in Japan before the hybrid SACD release in 2003.

CBS/Sony 35DP 93: This 1983 full-priced CD is possibly the first Bob Dylan CD ever released in Japan, making Infidels possibly the first Bob Dylan album to be released simultaneously on CD anywhere in the world. It had a grey card box-type obi with price ¥3,500 and a 28-page stapled booklet as the front insert.

Sony SRCS 6172: This 1991 mid-priced CD has a black, red, white, blue and yellow obi in the "NICE PRICE LINE 15" series with the price ¥1,800. It had a folded front insert plus an additional insert that opened out to a larger size.
