Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Volume 3
|
This page is part of a new section of original releases by release date of international commercially-released regular stereo Dylan albums. They do not contain rarities or obscurities and are not eligible for the Searching For A Gem list. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo releases of regular albums are now listed here and not in the yearly Promo sections. This page is still incomplete - more entries required. For releases of this album in Columbia multi-packs, see International Album Releases (Regular) - Multi-Packs. |

If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to
existing entries, please let me know!
Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities -
see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the

US release, Columbia CK 66783, 15 Nov 1994. Scans of the US release required! Also, was there a vinyl release anywhere in the world? For liner notes commissioned from Christopher Ricks that were omitted from the final release, see The Liner Notes That Sank (these notes were for an album with a slightly different tracklist). Dignity, released here for the first time, was a previously unreleased 1989 out-take from Oh Mercy, although the version here had been remixed in 1994 by Brendan O'Brien. For promo and commercial CD single releases of the version of Dignity from this album, see 1994. The original 1989 version of Dignity is a rarity and was released on the Touched By An Angel soundtrack album in 1998. It was later released in the UK and elsewhere on The Best Of Bob Dylan Vol. 2, see 2000, and on European releases of The Essential Bob Dylan, see 2001 and 2003. |
Tracklisting: Tangled Up In Blue; Changing Of The Guards (original 6:36 version from the 1978 release of Street-Legal); Jokerman; The Groom’s Still Waiting At The Altar (1981 single, now included on the CD release of Shot of Love); Hurricane; Forever Young (slow version with The Band from Planet Waves); Dignity (out-take from Oh Mercy, remixed by Brendan O'Brien, exclusive to this album); Silvio; Ring Them Bells; Gotta Serve Somebody; Series Of Dreams (from The Bootleg Series Vols. 1-3); Brownsville Girl; Under The Red Sky; Knockin' On Heaven's Door.
Except where noted, all tracks are from the original studio albums. For international albums with the title Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Vol. 3 with different tracklists, see International Album Releases (Dylan-only Compilations). For the CD-Plus edition of this album, with additional features accessible on Windows or Macintosh PCs, see 1995.
