This is the sixth part of a separate multi-year list by release date of commercially-released stereo Bob Dylan-only compilation albums (including Greatest Hits albums with non-standard tracklists) that have been referred to me but do not qualify for my Searching For A Gem list because they contain only performances which are all available on officially released Dylan albums. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. This radio programme hosted by Rita Houston and named after the James
Joyce novel contains songs from both The Bootleg Series Vol. 9 - The
Witmark Demos 1962-1964 and The Original Mono Recordings. There
are also interviews with
Roy
Silver, Artie Mogull, Colin Escott and Steve Berkowitz. I have no details of
the content. There are two versions of the programme: a 54 min version with time allowed for advertisements, and also a 59 min version for public service broadcasting. As this is a compilation of mono recordings it should strictly have its own page, but is included here as it isn't a rarity. The front insert is a 12-page stapled booklet with notes by Greil Marcus and previously unseen photos. The rear insert of my European copy has "Made in the EU" but the CD does not. The European front sticker has different white text in the lower section than the USA sticker, the same as the Australian sticker. The European release also has the Sony Music logo on the rear insert. The European CD looks the same as the US CD, but the Australian CD has the Sony Music logo at the top. |

Readers will notice the inclusion of the mono single Positively 4th Street, which does not appear on one of the eight original albums. The other non-album US single, Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?, appeared in mono on 1985’s Biograph and the circulating stereo mix has never been officially released. This album actually contains all ten tracks of the 1967 US mono Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits plus Song To Woody; Chimes Of Freedom; Tombstone Blues; I'll Be Your Baby Tonight and All Along The Watchtower.
