This page lists mono releases of this regular Bob Dylan album. These LPs are eligible for inclusion on this site because the mono versions of Dylan songs are now unavailable on CD. Mono LPs with rare tracks (e.g. mono versions with significant differences from the album tracks, such as different mixes, edits or fades) are listed in the main chronological pages. Mono singles up to 1976 have their own pages, see the links above.
Thanks to David Burgess for the UK catalogue numbers - all my mono LPs were stolen when my Manchester flat was burgled in May 1968!
For stereo releases of this album, see International Album Releases (Regular).
This page is still incomplete. If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to
existing entries, please let me know!
Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities -
see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the
dealers on my Trading page for assistance!

"The Times They Are A-Changin'" - vinyl LP, Columbia CL 2105 (USA),
10 Feb
1964:
10 Feb 1964 is the release date given by bobdylan.com, Brian Hinton's 2006
book "Bob Dylan Album File & Complete Discography" (Cassell Illustrated), dates
it as 13 Jan 1964. The front photograph was taken by Barry Feinstein, uncredited. It's a
pastiche of a Woody Guthrie photo.
Note the US rear sleeve has track times and also poems by Bob, "11 Outlined Epitaphs", subsequently published in his "Writings And Drawings" book and "Lyrics 1962-1985". The rear sleeve showed the first three and a half poems, which were continued on an insert.
The mono and stereo rear sleeves were different on the initial release, but subsequent US album releases from 1965 onwards used the same sleeve for both mono and stereo versions as long as mono continued. The 1964 rear sleeve also has a "1" in the bottom right hand corner.
The matrix number of the first mono pressings were XLP-75526/27-1A - subsequent pressings were 1B, 1C, etc.
It is possible to find copies with the "Guaranteed High Fidelity" label in the second sleeve. Sergio Magnacca from Argentina has such a copy.

Thanks to Hans Seegers for information and scans of this rare South African
version of The Times They Are A-Changin' which has a
variant track list. Side 1 has six songs instead of five because With God On Our
Side was banned in apartheid South Africa and removed from the LP (even though it is
still listed on the front cover)! It was replaced by Motorpsycho
Nitemare and It Ain't Me, Babe. Thanks also to Alan Galley from New Zealand for drawing my attention to this album. The Times They Are A-Changin' was re-released in stereo in South Africa in 1981 with the original track list, see International Album Releases (Regular). |

"The Times They Are A-Changin'" - vinyl LP, CBS 62251 (NL), 1965:
" "Mister" Bob Dylan" - vinyl LP, CBS 62 251 (France), 1965:
This is the French mono version of The Times They Are A-Changin',
like Freewheelin' with a new title! Arie de Reus has a test pressing of
this album on two discs with classical music on the reverse of each disc. This test
pressing has blank labels, so a scan would be pointless.

1965:
The stereo version of this album was CBS SBP-233107.
