This is a separate multi-year list by release date of commercially-released Various Artist stereo compilation albums released in 2023 that have been referred to me but do not qualify for my Searching For A Gem list because they contain only Bob Dylan performances which are available on officially released Dylan albums. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo-only Various Artist compilation albums with Dylan tracks are now included in this list. Other International Albums and Compilations are now here:

I suspect that the days of Various Artists Compilations on CD are over, killed off by streaming playlists, and vinyl collections will in future be the only format.

Bob's contribution to this UK 3LP set on white vinyl is Positively 4th Street, the 1965 single later released on Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits in 1967 in the USA but not until More Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits in 1971 in the UK, on Side 1 (Record 1, Side 1) plus Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds on Side 5 (Record 3, Side 1). I suspect that the days of Various Artists Compilations on CD are over, killed off by streaming playlists, and these vinyl collections will in future be the only format. |

Bob's album Christmas In The Heart appeared in 2009, and tracks from it have been selected for Christmas compilations ever since!

Compilations with Out of Copyright Tracks
Sony let the copyright to the 1962 releases of Bob Dylan and Bob's first single Mixed Up Confusion expire in 2012. This has led to many budget record labels releasing unauthorised editions of Bob Dylan or including tracks from the album on compilations without authorisation. These are now listed separately from the other Various Artists Compilations. Sony has of course rectified this situation by renewing the copyrights of the albums from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan onwards, and with the limited edition 50th Anniversary Collection releases from 1962 onwards.
