The Traveling Wilburys on Nobody's Child (R-0206, see Wilburys 1990) and the album Volume Three were Bob Dylan (Boo), George Harrison (Spike), Jeff Lynne (Clayton) and Tom Petty (Muddy) - different pseudonyms from those on the first album, see Wilburys 1988. The story at the time was that Del Shannon would replace Roy Orbison, because Jeff Lynne was producing an album for him with George Harrison and Tom Petty also participating. However, Del sadly died in Feb 1990 - the otherwise unreleased single bonus track Runaway (R-0210, also see Wilburys 1990) could be a tribute to him. It was reported that before his death in 2001 George Harrison was working on a new Wilburys anthology to be called Maximum Traveling which was going to contain three unreleased tracks recorded by the Wilburys with Del, although there now seem to be no plans to release these. For the reissue of this album in The Traveling Wilburys Collection with two bonus tracks, see Wilburys 2007, Wilburys 2008 and Wilburys 2016.

The record of Sergio Mariano Romay's Warner Bros copy
has handwritten matrix numbers:
Side 1 - 1-26324-A
SR-1, Side 2 - 1-26324-B SR-2. In addition each side has an "SRC"
logo written in the vinyl as
shown in the illustration. This indicates the record was mastered at the
Specialty Records Corporation plant in Olyphant, PA, which was purchased
by WEA (Warner-Elektra-Asylum) in 1978. SRC operated separately until
1996, when it became WEA Manufacturing.

Wilbury Records/Warner Bros 7599 26324-1 (Italy) -
detail of rear, scan by Michel Pomarede ("MADE IN ITALY")
The copy of the record shown has handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 - 1-26324-A SR-1, Side 2 - 1-26324-B SR-2, plus the handwritten symbol of "R" and "C" inside an "S", denoting the record was mastered by Specialty Records Corporation, Olyphant, PA, as shown above for the US vinyl release. These matrix numbers are the same as the US record, which implies US masters were used in Italy, whereas the German records were mastered in Alsdorf with stamped matrix numbers without the "SRC" symbol.
Thanks to Michel Pomarede for information and scans.

Wilbury Records/Warner Bros/MMC Records 7599-26324-1/PL MMC 9010 (Hungary) - front scan by Alex Ivanov |
The Hungarian LP was manufactured in Hungary by MMC Records, who also imported the German LP of Traveling Wilburys Volume One into Hungary, see Wilburys 1988. The difference between this and the German vinyl release shown is that the German release has a barcode in the upper right-hand corner of the rear sleeve. |

Wilbury Records/Warner Bros/Jugoton 7599-26324-1 (Yugoslavia) - detail
of rear, scan by Manuel García Jara
This is the version released in the former Yugoslavia, made by Jugoton of Zagreb (now Croatia). The rear sleeve has a Jugoton price sticker for 134,40 Dinars. Like Virgin used to be in the UK, Jugoton was both a record label and a chain record store in the former Yugoslavia. The record labels have the "SOKOJ" Yugoslav copyright organisation logo.
Thanks to Manuel García Jara for information and scans.
"Traveling Wilburys Volume Three" - vinyl LP release: Wilbury Records/WEA 7599-26324-1 (Australia), 1990:

The rare South Korean vinyl LP was distributed by
Oasis Records on behalf of Warner Bros. It has a four-page insert in Korean and
English. The date on the Side 2 record label is 27b Dec 1990 but the date on the
insert is Jan 1991.
Sergio Mariano Romay has a promo copy with a front
sticker in Korean and English. There is also an embossed stamp with "NOT FOR
SALE PROMOTION ONLY" in English. There is another
sticker on the rear sleeve. The record is the same as Patrick's.
Thanks to Patrick Helfrich and Sergio Mariano Romay for information and scans.

"Traveling Wilburys Volume Three" - promo and commercial vinyl LP releases: Wilbury Records/WEA 1-26324 (Uruguay for Argentina), 1990:
Unlike other countries' releases, the sleeve of this release has a green rather than a brown tinge - the band name has green lettering instead of brown. The rear sleeve has all information in Spanish only: copyright, credits and tracklist. The record has plain Warner Bros labels with the tracklist in Spanish and in English. The translations into Spanish are correct and this time the Mexican and Uruguayan releases have almost identical translations.
Sergio Mariano Romay adds: "I worked in a record store from October 1989 to February 1998. I remember that in those years WEA did not manufacture vinyl in my country (Argentina) but imported them from Uruguay. So, the Argentina LP 1-26324 is the same that was released in Uruguay. My copy has handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 - 1-26324-A – SR-2 (or Z), Side B - 1-26324-B – SR-2. Both sides have (handwritten too but very faint) "SP-ARG" and a logo with “S” plus small “R” and small “C”." As well as "SP-ARG", the copyright organisations listed ("SADAIC-BIEM" and "AADI-CAPIF") are Argentinean so this also implies the albums were intended for sale in Argentina. However, Manuel's copy was bought in Montevideo, Uruguay, so some copies must have found their way back there. (Thanks to Manuel for pointing out that "BIEM" represented artists in 44 countries including Uruguay.) In contrast, in 1988 the Argentinean release of Traveling Wilburys Volume One was made by EMI-Odeón in Argentina for WEA, not by WEA in Uruguay.
The promo copy shown has the same sleeve as the commercial copy. The record has white promo labels with text "DIFUSION PROHIBIDA SU VENTA [DISTRIBUTION PROHIBITED FOR SALE]" printed, not stamped. The handwritten matrix numbers are the same as Sergio's commercial copy, including the handwritten "SP-ARG".
Uruguay also had its own release of Traveling Wilburys Volume Three, WEA WB 20066-4, but on cassette only, see below.
Thanks to Manuel García Jara for information and scans.
"Traveling Wilburys Volume Three" - vinyl LP release: Wilbury Records/WEA 26324 (Argentina), 1990:
The record labels, however, are different. There is a mistake - the band name is shown as "TRAVELYNG WILBURYS" below the centre hole on both sides, although the album title above the centre hole is correct. The labels also have "INDUSTRIA ARGENTINA" showing the record this time was pressed in Argentina. The record of this copy has handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 - 1-26324-A – SR-2 (or "Z"), Side B - 1-26324-B – SR-2. Both sides have (handwritten too but very faint) "SP-ARG" and a logo with “S” plus small “R” and small “C”.
Thanks to Sergio Mariano Romay for information and scans.

Derek Davies has bought a brand new/sealed copy of Traveling Wilburys Volume 3 on vinyl, Wilbury Records/Concord Bicycle 8880 72009646. The sleeve, inner sleeve and record labels are all correct for Traveling Wilburys Volume 3. However the record plays the tracks from the Bonus 12” album included in the Wilburys box set CRE-39517-01 (see Wilburys 2016)! The record has handwritten matrix numbers: Side 1 - 15855.1(3) and TW-BT-A, Side 2 - 15855.2(3) and TW-BT-B, the same as the Bonus 12" album. This mispressing has not been reported elsewhere

The German CD release was distributed throughout Europe - my copy was bought in
the UK. The front insert was a single sheet folded into eight panels. Thanks to "Geneviève" for the information that a version of the European release 7599-26324-2 is on sale in Germany with "five bonus tracks". This is actually a pirate recording - three of the "bonus tracks" are Nobody's Child (R-0206, see above), Runaway (R-0210, see below) and the instrumental version of New Blue Moon (R-0211, see below). The remaining two "bonus tracks" were the unreleased Wilburys 1990 out-takes that circulated amongst collectors: Maxine and Like A Ship - for details of these see my other site Starlight In The East: Bob Dylans Unreleased Songs. This CD should be avoided by collectors of official releases! Maxine and Like A Ship were officially released at last on the 2007 Wilburys boxed set The Traveling Wilburys Collection, see Wilburys 2007. |
