Traveling Wilburys - "Traveling Wilburys Volume One", Wilbury Records/Warner Bros 9 25796-2 (USA); Wilbury Records CD 25796 (Canada); Wilbury Records/Warner Bros 925 796-2 (UK/West Germany); Warner-Pioneer/Wilbury Records 23P1-2327 (Japan - LP); Wilbury Records/Warner Bros WBC 1652 (South Africa), 18 Oct 1988:

This album is now out of print, and the album tracks were added to this list later than the exclusive single tracks, which is why their R-numbers are higher. The US edition came in a "long box" - see below. The Traveling Wilburys on Volume One were Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. Roy Orbison died on 6 Dec 1988 before the release of the single End Of The Line, and only his photograph is shown in the video of the song performed by the four surviving group members. |

R-0328 Handle With Care R-0329 Dirty World R-0330 Rattled R-0331 Last Night R-0334 Heading For The Light R-0335 Margarita R-0336 Tweeter And The Monkey Man R-0337 End Of The Line R-0332 Not Alone Any More R-0333 Congratulations (All songs credited to the Traveling Wilburys) Thanks to Magnus Sjöberg for the scan of the US promo CD - the CD has the red text "PROMOTIONAL COPY NOT FOR SALE" but there is nothing on the CD inserts to indicate that it is a promo. The CD also has a coloured Wilbury Record logo, unlike the commercial CD, which has black printing only. The Japanese CD was Warner-Pioneer/Wilbury 25P2-2327, and the cassette was 23P4-2327. There is an alternate catalogue number of 25DP-2327 - was this a reissue? The 25DP-2327 release has a white, brown, blue, black and yellow obi (information from Hans Seegers). This album was also released in other countries (scans to be added): As this CD is now deleted, there are several pirated releases that look genuine and feature "bonus tracks". One example is called the Traveling Wilburys Volume One Gold Edition and has the European catalogue number. The nine bonus tracks are lifted from the 12" singles (see below) and a Traveling Wilburys demo tape that was released as a bootleg CD. Thanks to Paul S. Levine for information about this. Thanks to Hans Seegers, Magnus Sjöberg and Jean-Pol Hiernaux for information and scans. Thanks to John Redbard for information that the album was also released in the USA by the BMG Music Club. The Club edition has several changes in details from the standard US release - scans required! For the reissue of this album in The Traveling Wilburys Collection with two bonus tracks, see Wilburys 2007. |

Thanks to Jack from Canada for scans of two Canadian releases, a record club release from Columbia House and the regular release from Wilbury Records/Warner Bros. The Columbia House CD has catalogue number of 574293T, while the Wilbury Records CD is CD 25796. The Columbia House CD is missing the copyright text at the bottom, which is included on the regular Wilbury Records CD. |

Thanks to John Gaylor for scans of a "Limited Edition" numbered 211 652-7 that looks like a genuine promotional item, but which is in fact a pirated release. It contains all the songs from Volume One and Volume Three (see 1990) with extended versions of Handle With Care, End Of The Line and Wilbury Twist. The copy found on eBay by Jean-Pol Hiernaux is a promo and has a promo sticker on the back. The South Korean release was manufactured by SKC Limited on behalf of Warner Bros/Wilbury Records. The Japanese release had a folded insert with the lyrics. Thanks to Stuart Moore for scans of the Australian LP and cassette releases. |
