Up ] 1970s Radio Station Albums ] 1980s Radio Station Albums ] 1990s Radio Station Albums ] [ 2000s Radio Station Albums ]

This page lists stereo Various Artists radio station albums in all formats including Bob Dylan album tracks from the 2000s. They do not contain rarities (I'm ignoring any editing or talking over them), but are none the less very collectable. For earlier stereo radio albums, see the links above.

For Radio Station albums issued in mono up to 1970 see Mono LPs (Various Artists Compilations). For radio shows with Dylan interviews, see Interviews with Bob. Dylan-only radio shows are listed in Promotional Albums Dylan-only.

This page is still incomplete. If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to existing entries, please let me know! Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities - see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the dealers on my Trading page for assistance!

Revised 29 April, 2008.

For earlier radio station albums, see the links above.

"1964: The Times They Are A-Changin' - A Radio Symposium On Bob Dylan and His Times" - 2 radio station CDs, Columbia Legacy (no catalogue number) (USA), Jan 2005:

Front photocopy by Ian Woodward
This 2CD set reproduces the cover from The Bootleg Series Vol. 6: Live 1964 on a yellow background as the front of the CD booklet.  Inside, it gives the radio cues, as though it is a CD pack sent out by WFUV for syndication, although the discs (blue on the playing side so perhaps CD-Rs) and the rear sleeve have Columbia logos properly printed on them.  The programme includes five songs from The Bootleg Series Vol. 6: Live 1964 and there's a note that Columbia and Dylan's management waive their rights under U.S. legislation to allow radio stations to stream the programme on their websites.

Thanks to Ian Woodward for information about this item.

"The Bootleg Series Vol. 7 - No Direction Home: The Soundtrack (Two Hour Radio Special)" - promo 2CD set, Columbia/Legacy COL 1391-1/2 (USA), Sep 2005; Columbia/Legacy 82876 89682 2 (USA), 2006:

Columbia/Legacy COL 1391-1/2 (USA) - picture from eBay

eBay description: "This is a Sony Music double-disc "Radio Special" companion to the Dylan "No Direction Home" CD and documentary, no catalogue number, no bar code, sent only to radio stations! From the copy on the back of the set: "NO DIRECTION HOME: BOB DYLAN--Part One Program time: 59:00--One (1:00) minute ID break at program time 30:36-31:36, with music bed. Part Two Program time: 59:00--One (1:00) minute ID break at program time 26:02-27:02, with music bed. This is the "official bootleg" radio companion for the PBS special "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan." A two part (two-one hour shows) music intensive radio special featuring exclusive music, interviews and other materials from Bob Dylan's personal archives. This program is hosted by David Dye. You'll hear music and interviews featured in the Martin Scorcese-directed film, "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan," which premiers on PBS stations September 26-27, 2005. This program also includes additional interviews not heard in the film. Many of the people that were witness to Dylan's progress tell us what he was like, what was going on at the time and the cultural impact of Dylan's emergence. We'll hear from poet Allen Ginsburg, singer Dave Van Ronk, Susan Rotolo, and scenesters Manny Roth, Bruce Langhorn, Carolyn Hester, Bob Neuwirth, as well as noted Dylanologist Prof. Sean Wilentz, and many more. This set is sealed, mint, unplayed and very rare. This is a super-rare promo-only item." Jack from Canada points out that the discs have the catalogue numbers COL 1391-1 and COL 1391-2 on the centre rim of the playable side.

Tim Dunn has a copy of the 2CD set with catalogue number Columbia/Legacy 82876 89682 2 that was sent out to people promising donations by a Cleveland, OH, TV station in 2006 as part of a "pledge drive" during the showing of "No Direction Home". This has no front cover illustration, just text with the title. The rear insert is the same as illustrated but with the FBI Anti-Piracy logo on the rear insert.

Thanks to Jack from Canada, Hervé from France and Tim Dunn for information and to Arie de Reus for scans.

Bob Dylan and The Band - "King Biscuit Radio Hour" - radio station CD, SFX Radio Network (USA), 2006?:

Picture from eBay
This radio show features Bob and The Band performing Don't Do It; The Shape I'm In; Since You've Been Gone; Ophelia; Like A Rolling Stone and Up On Cripple Creek. The performances are described as being "recorded live by the KBRH" but the Dylan performance is almost certainly from Before The Flood.

Thanks to Tim Dunn for finding this on eBay - the picture also illustrates a Mark Knopfler radio programme.
