This is the seventh part of a separate multi-year list by release date of international (now including the USA, which was once listed separately) promo and commercially-released stereo 7" and 12" singles that have been referred to me but do not qualify for my Searching For A Gem list because they contain only performances which are available on officially released Dylan albums. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know many are not included on any other Internet site. Special thanks to Hans Seegers for many of these items! This page is incomplete - more entries required. All promo-only singles and promo versions of commercially released singles that were formerly listed in the Promotional Items sections of the yearly pages are now listed here.
If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to
existing entries, please let me know!
Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities -
see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the
dealers on my Trading page for assistance!

Music From The Motion Picture "Wonder
Boys" - promo CD singles, Columbia/Sony Music Soundtrax CSK 46489 (USA), Jan
2000/Columbia PRCD 98028 (Mexico), 2000:
For the DVD release of Wonder Boys, see
VHS & DVD 2000s Part
1. The film contains
both the full version of the song
played over the closing credits, and a shorter version played over the opening
credits.
This promo one-track CD single comes in a regular jewel case with front and rear inserts.
R-0299 Things Have
Changed
- a song written and recorded specially for this film in
1999, lyrics on bobdylan.com
![]()
Now no longer a rarity since it is included in The Essential Bob Dylan
(2000) on the bobdylan.com albums page.
The insert notes say this is Bob's first song written and performed especially for a movie since Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid in 1973. The writer has obviously not referred to these pages, where he or she would have found Band Of The Hand from the film of the same name in 1986, and Night After Night plus Had A Dream About You, Baby from Hearts Of Fire in 1987!
There is also a Mexican version of this promo CD single, Columbia PRCD 98028. This is the only Mexican Dylan promo CD single so far. When the film was released in Mexico it was retitled Loco Fin De Semana [Crazy Weekend] but here it is still Wonder Boys.
Stuart Sonshine has a Columbia/Sony Music Soundtrax USA advance test CD-R with date "1/11/00" (11 Jan 2000) - scan required.
The CD-R test pressings shown here are of the full song. The first comes in a plain black card sleeve and is undated, the second is dated "1/11/00" (11 Jan 2000), and the third is dated 5 Feb 2001 and comes in a slimline CD single jewel case with an insert.

Oh Mercy version remastered
The other three tracks on this sampler CD, which comes in a card sleeve, are from John Lennon, Neil Young and Leonard Cohen. The only difference in this sleeve from the regular album cover are the words "5 Track Sampler". The CD was made in Austria for Europe-wide distribution.
Now Oh Mercy has been released in a remastered hybrid SA-CD version, R-0320 has become redundant. The remastered track was in significantly better quality than on the regular Columbia CD at the time, but has now been superseded.

This sampler was available in a jewel case as well as the cardboard sleeve shown, and also a plain silver glass-mastered version of the CD with just text and the Columbia logo. The UK release, catalogue number XPCD 1388, was in a different red sleeve. The CD label is a different "antique" Columbia design.
Columbia COL 1731, the alternate version of the US CD sampler with the same title and tracks, comes in a slim (CD single) jewel case without a front or back cover. It is a silver CD, not a CD-R as previously reported. Thanks to Anthony Pignataro for finding this on eBay and to Hans Seegers for the scan.
The Australian CD-R version comes in a gold Columbia Australia card sleeve with a white label listing the four tracks. The CD-R has just the text "BOB DYLAN" and "SAMPLER". The catalogue number of the A-side is given as Columbia 4-43348 whereas the actual catalogue number of the original 7" mono single was Columbia 4-43346 (see Mono Singles 1965). This must be a misprint as the pressing number is given as ZSP 110938, which is correct.
