There must be hundreds of these albums from round the world! If you have any entries to add to the list or additions/corrections to
existing entries, please let me know!
Please note I cannot value your Dylan rarities - see the Mission page for reasons why. Contact the dealers on my Trading page for assistance!
This is a separate multi-year list by release date of commercially-released Various Artist stereo compilation albums released in 1998 that have been referred to me but do not qualify for my Searching For A Gem list because they contain only Bob Dylan performances which are available on officially released Dylan albums. Nevertheless, their interest value or scarcity means they're worth listing here - as far as I know some are not included on any other Internet site. Promo-only Various Artist compilation albums with Dylan tracks and Radio Station Albums are included here also. Other International Compilations are now here:
Revised 12 March, 2010.

Bob's contribution is Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again from Blonde On Blonde. For the film itself, see VHS & DVD: Films with Dylan Album Tracks. is Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, the live version from Manchester,
May 1966, from The Bootleg Series Vol. 4: Live 1966, see
International
Album Releases. The album was released on 12 Oct 1998, so this was a
preview. I wrongly had this listed before as live from Liverpool, May 1966, the B-side of 1966 I Want You single (R-0054, see 1966). Thanks to Antoine Glemain for the information and Hans Seegers for the scans. |

Various Artists - "Diamond Cuts" - compilation CD, Hungry For Music HFM 003 (USA), 29 Sep 1998:
This CD of baseball-related songs compiled by Jeff Campbell was released by charity Hungry For Music to benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the Jackie Robinson Foundation. Bob's contribution is Catfish, the 1975 out-take from Desire released in 1991 on The Genuine Bootleg Series Vols. 1-3. Contrary to the previous listing, this track is exactly the same length as on that album, at 2:48.
According to amazon.com this CD was re-released on 28 Mar 2000 as Diamond Cuts Vol. 1: Play Ball. ("Play Ball" is the text on the reverse of the rear insert.) There are now seven compilation CDs in the Diamond Cuts series, but none of the subsequent releases feature Bob. For a 2005 4CD set with Catfish entitled The Great American Baseball Set, see the page in this list covering 2005.
Thanks to Freddy Ordoñez Araque for pointing out this set and to Hans Seegers for scans.

The limited edition German vinyl release was also available in Holland. The copy shown is still sealed - scan of the Side 1 record label required! Thanks to Hans Seegers and Jack from Canada for information and scans. |

This compilation contained a Dylan rarity, the original 1989 out-take
version of Dignity from Oh Mercy, not the Brendan O'Brien remix
included in 1994's Greatest Hits Vol. 3. Full details were
previously in
1998. As the rarity has now been included in the 2007 3CD
compilation Dylan, this album is now listed in Released Rarities. Thanks to Hans Seegers for scans of the European CD, made in Austria for France and Holland. The artwork is virtually identical to my US copy apart from the front sticker. |
